The packhouse
Located at Ham Farm, our packhouse is strategically located to ensure our herbs are packed and dispatched at the earliest opportunity; our closest farm is only a stones throw away, and our glasshouse is located just over 600m from the packhouse. This helps ensure we provide you with the freshest herbs possible.
Having invested a further £1.3 million, we operate the latest packing technology on-site. Five horizontal lines and up to six vertical lines can run at once (sufficient capacity to produce 128 million packs per year).
Horizontal lines flow wrap softer or woody herbs such as tarragon and rosemary. Meanwhile, rapid vertical lines significantly reduce handling to improve product quality. They’re also fitted with the latest multi-weigh heads to ensure accurate measurement of each pack.
Preparing every harvest before packing, we operate a moisture removal system, and a vacuum cooler to remove heat. Both processes help maintain quality and maximise shelf life.
In a nutshell, the packhouse is fundamental to our herb quality and your speed of supply.
