We grow 85% of our fresh British herbs
here on our own fertile land

British Farmland

Langmead Herbs owns several farms surrounding our packhouse in the West Sussex countryside. An ideal spot for plenty of sunshine, we grow 85% of our fresh British herbs here on fertile land that we own outright.

You’ll also find our herbs growing across Sussex and Suffolk too. This flexibility often helps us start the British season earlier in the year.

Over the winter months, longstanding overseas partners help to ensure our customers have reliable year-round supply.

Committed to sustainable farming, our approach includes a four-crop regenerative farming rotation to grow the healthiest crops. We also have an efficient irrigation system using recycled water and generate more solar energy than we need.

From enhancing biodiversity to the latest technology, we’re constantly investing to reduce our carbon footprint while creating a resilient supply chain to serve you with confidence.

Walton Farm

Walton Farm is home to our impressive 2.2-hectare glasshouse. Fully automated following a £2 million investment, it’s where we grow over four million potted herbs throughout the year.

We’ve automated our entire glasshouse process, from germination and spacing to the entire growth cycle.

Having analysed and perfected every detail we’ve created a never-ending supply of healthy potted herbs, come rain or shine.

Talking of climate, a high-tech weather station helps us create the best possible growing environment in the glasshouse, making the most of natural resources.

Connected to our growing software, it helps optimise boiler operation, ventilation, lighting, and screen use throughout the seasons.

Tuppers Tunnels

Tuppers Tunnels is home to 38 polytunnels covering 1.5 hectares. We grow mint and tarragon here, harvesting more than a tonne per week

These perennial herbs are in the ground throughout the year.

We harvest between April and October, relying on our trusted overseas partners to supply the winter months from sunnier climes.

Drawing recycled water from our reservoir, we irrigate the polytunnels with overhead sprinklers and a ground level drip system.

This creates the perfect environment for herb plants to thrive.

Tuppers Tunnels is also where we carry out agronomy trials. We have dedicated polytunnels for this innovative work.
